Carl Sagan once said: "If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, (…) to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs".
What's this guy's agenda? I hope he has got one otherwise he is a nutcase. If someone has insulin resistance, the worse thing you can possibly do is feed them starch. Do that and you will destroy their organs quick smart. Eat as many cruciferous vegetables as possible because of the hormonal rebalancing and their ability to mobilise a fatty liver. Consuming a sensible amount of fat is actually good as it will not trigger an additional pancreatic insulin response, giving these people a chance to lose weight. Aslo fat with any protein foods will buffer and minimise the pancreatic response. Never have sugar with protein if you are insulin resistant it will just amplify the spike. For example don't eat bread with meat .Also, these people do not require much protein any suplus protein will make their situation worse. Do not touch whey protein powders! Eating only once or twice a day will mean you are not activating insulin all day again this will give these people a chance to lose weight. Go get a Dexus Body Scan every 3 months and note the results. The proof will be in the pudding .
Insulin resistance is usually caused by the lack of primarily two minerals, chromium and vanadium (twentyish other minerals also play role in this process). When insulin attaches to the cell receptor, it generates electrical signal thru the cell to open the door and let the sugar in. Chromium and vanadium are most important in creating this electrical signal. Once sugar is inside the cell, a feedback signal is sent that tell pancreas to stop producing insulin. If you are deficient in these minerals, insulin rings a bell, but no signal is generated and the sugar doors stay closed. No feedback signal is generated as well, thus pancreas produces more insulin and this loop repeats. Finally, when too much insulin piles up on the cell, sugar doors are forced open and a little bit of sugar gets into the cell. When too many sugar doors are forced open, bad things can happen. So, instead of taking drugs and insulin for type 2, you probably just need to supplement with minerals. If you crave food all the time, especially sugar, try eating a bit of protein, it should go away. No need for a surgery to lose weight, either. In any case, for chronic disease your best bet is naturopathic doctor and not MD, not even a well meaning MD.
Thanks Dr McDoudall for putting the truth out there i feel the same way. my channel is all about diabetes
this guy must work for the sugar industry. He said he been a doctor of allopathic for 40 years, thats a long time to establish ties to the poison sugar/starch industries.
Quack quack quack. Some good info here but a lot of disinfo near the end. High sugar won't improve your diabetes. I'm so called type 1.5. If I eat a banana my b.s. will go right up. If I eat two avocados it won't rise. This dude is a shill. You got to recognise a lot of these people will give out good information and then throw in the disinfo to keep you sick.
You can cure your own diabetes without diet or exercise by using Dr. FlyByNight's special baking soda/apple cider vinegar/secret ingredients for only $1000 per month.
I f may be better this presentation is unscientific
The quest for health is worth billions to the health industry – the state of good health is worth nothing to that industry but everything to we the people. We have to use our sense and wisdom to choose that path despite the pressure to take more meds.
Do you do C Peptide and fasting insulin tests on your patients?
I've spend a long time researching into diabetes after which we found a fantastic resource at Diabetes Crusher Tactic (google it if you are interested)
Is it just me or does he look sick? I think he is pallid, drawn and has dark circles under his eyes. Nobody else sees this???
This quack seems to be pushing a vegan ideology, not science. Check out intermittent fasting and ketogenic diet for REAL reversal of type 2 diabetes.

Step one. Ban the "D" word. People should not be their disease. Don't let the food industry scam you. Low sugar foods should not cost more. Diagnosed with Type II? You get shunted off into a different branch of humanity, the one which can no longer be stuffed full of sugar, and they make you pay for the privilege. If you need to eat differently from other people, just do it. Don't be intimidated into buying fake foods, like high-priced box cereals, so you can look like you're eating the same as everyone else. Test strips, if you need them. They should cost a nickel, you know that coin with the picture of the controversial Mr. Jefferson on it which is bigger than the dime but worth half as much. Not fifty cents per. Diabetes is an industry, and you the victim are the profit center. Let's not forget, the government pays much of the way for millions of people – seniors, veterans, poor people on medicaid, military and public retirees. Then, thanks to the "D" word and the ghettoization of the victims, you can still be gouged a little here and there. If you have to pay your own way, it eff you.
If cow milk sets off an autoimmune response that destroys the pancreas, as he said, how come we've drunk it for thousands of years? In the past the Mongolians and Masai ate nothing but meat and milk.
Well my mother would fully agree with the horribleness of diabetic medication pills. She had them at the start of her diabetes 2 and took them for 2 years. (She went on insuline later) The side effects of the pills were really bad. Her nails were literally splitting apart (from top to bottom!) from them and not long after she quit taking the pills she broke her ankle and got a hernia. She strongly believes it's due to those medicines and I believe her, because her nails started to restore a few months after she quit those pills and she looked better.
(Btw she wasn't overweight or eating unhealthy, she had already thyroid (hormonal) problems from giving birth and it messed things up so much she got dieabetes 2 also.)
I am confused. If high sugars creates diabetes or insulin resistance, why will a high carb diet fix it? Aren't carbs turned into sugar in the body? Since complex carbs are turned into sugar doesn't that spike insulin? I am genuinely confused.
What if "Insulin Resistance" isn't actually a resistance to insulin, but simply a condition of "the fat cells are full"?
The job of insulin is to shuttle fat into fat cells. So what if the reason they can't do the job, is simply that the fat cells are already too full to get any more inside them?
an amazing honest man and Dr into the bargain, thank you so much John for your amazing presentation bringing truth forward. I have learnt so much from you and will look forward in the future as a naturopath to using this information to help my clients heal.
love and light

What you have nemed as type 2 DM is the PRE-DIABETES situation, and your 1,5 is the true DM Type 2.
I see the industry shills have latched on in the comments section.
Look at the research first and expose them.
I’m type one and half but I’m not overweight I’m 5’6 129 lbs and I’m insulin dependent. Ive tried metformin, glimpezide and amaryl but they just gave me stomach problems and didn’t lower my glucose enough. On insulin my numbers are great yet they say I’m type 1.5
So sad that money is more important than the well being of people. My grandmother and Aunt both were diagnosed with diabetes at the same time. They both ate processed foods and loved their Pepsi. My grandmother passed due to diabetes and heart failure. My Aunt passed from complications of diabetes. Sad to think diet would have cured them to live a more enjoyable life.
I thought I ate healthy until I started suffering from digestive problems that lead to emergency gallbladder removal. All I had to do was stop eating cheese and dairy products. I am now on a plant based diet and feel so much better. When I do get tempted to have cheese or eat processed food, I suffer greatly. My greatest difficulty is traveling and trying to find food I can eat.
This guy is obviously a legend in his own mind. I’d certainly rather starve to death than eat a bunch of unsprouted grain like he recommends. I am an omnivore who eats a plant-based diet, sans unsprouted grains. Vegans aren’t allowed to co-opt that term. Even the Chinese people he likes to refer to as a large population that relies on rice aren’t vegan. I don’t eat products from animals who’ve been fed unsprouted grains. Really, people, vegan diets are derived from elitist philosophical thinking, not science. No natural vegan population has ever been found. If people choose to be vegans for ethical reasons they should eat unprocessed foods of course, but they need to sprout those grains and beans!
Quack. Educate yourself please if you actually care about your health. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUiSCEBGxXk
grains = tired
